Coach Laura

Laura is a former multisport athlete in high school. Laura competed at the varsity level in volleyball, basketball, and softball. A graduate of Kent State University, Laura dedicated nine years to public service as a Stark County Deputy Sheriff before launching her own business, Secured Monitoring Systems, which she successfully owned and operated for 16 years.

Since discovering pickleball in 2018, Laura has become a standout competitor and community leader in the sport. She has earned numerous medals at major national tournaments, including back-to-back golds at the U.S. Open in 2022 and 2023. She was drafted by the Houston Hammers in 2024 for the Senior Champions Pro National Pickleball League. In 2025, she was drafted by the Villages Heat in Florida to compete in the Senior Champions Pro U.S. Legends Pickleball League starting in September 2025.

Laura is also a dedicated volunteer, coaching developmentally disabled adults at the Wadsworth YMCA. Whether competing or giving back, she brings passion, grit, and heart to everything she does.
